Almost Nothing Is Happening2018A collaborative project with Jill Verhaeghe en Magali Coremans
Our project contemplates our personal
relationship to digital communication and online
representation. An abundance of information creates a
distance between and inside ourselves and the other. At
the same time it also carries a potential of tenderness and
connection.
Almost Nothing Is Happening explores the in-between
moments and intimate interactions of this time.
Throughout different media we trace the ceaseless
exchange of a complex outside world and our personal spaces.
Almost Nothing Is Happening culminated in an exhibition,
in dialogue with other artists and friends, several video-
installations and a publication.
Lacrimal Events
Video Installation | Wall-to-wall projection & Google Maps, 1280 × 800
Lacrimal Events documents the trail of tears we’ve shed in Brussels, the city we call home. Stained by the memories of worries gone-by, hopes and loves left behind, the streets have lost their innocence. They have become accomplices, resonating memories we’d sometimes rather forget.

Video | Multi-screen projection, 1181 × 720
Through the lens of a webcam we see a girl spending a night at home. Chatting online, eating, not-eating, talking to her boyfriend, talking to a roommate, smoking several cigarettes. It just seems like nothing is ever happening.
